How AB Smartly works

A/B Smartly allows you to run experiments on the full-stack, backend, frontend, native apps and more. To create a great experimentation program you need to have a diverse set of metrics that give you full visibility about the user experience. Remember, A/B Testing is great at telling you what happened but terrible at telling you why it happened.

By creating a diverse set of metrics and segments you exponentially increase your debuggability and monitoring ability. It allows you to do data deep dives without having to write custom reports. Without segment you need to instrument the whole code base with `track` calls using A/B Smartly’s SDK, but with the Segment integration you can leverage all the `track` calls already done via Segment and have them automatically routed to A/B Smartly. This allows you to be up and running immediately and without a single line of code.

Add an unlimited amount of metrics and break down the impact on your metrics by segments. You can segment the data by anything you would like to, marketing channel, browser family, device type, newcomers vs returning users, etc.

All the data about your experiments available in a single interface. Search experiments by team, by significance, by theme or tag, by status, by percentage of impact, the ones that had a sample ratio mismatch, you name it.

All the data shows up in the dashboards in near real-time, with only some seconds of lag. Look at graphs with triggered visitors and metrics over time. No need for custom reports to be able to do data deep dives. But if needed it’s still possible to query the raw data and mix it with your other data streams or your data warehouse. Use Looker or Tableau or run your own queries directly on Redshift or BigQuery.
